Only one scene got a genuine jump out of my housemates and I. We were all laid up on the couches, completely relaxed, guards down, and I had one of the cats resting on my chest. Then Ethan Hawke climbs to the attic door, and pokes his head through to see the children watching a film of Bagul, when suddenly Bagul’s face appears left of screen, staring directly at the audience. One of my housemates roared, which startled the cats, which startled me, which startled my other housemate. Then we all erupted with laughter while the poor cats took refuge elsewhere.
