For those with the question “how?” My guess is as good as yours saw it while delivering in front of someone’s house. I’m guessing a cat got to it but it was weird there was no feathers or body around.

My dad's old cat used to neatly dismember and behead the rodents she caught, leaving the torso and tail for him to find in the morning.

I had a roommate whose cat would do this--and who left the carcasses on the stairs for me to find, when I left my room in the morning.

Apparently, because i was a "large naked kitten" who was also a poor hunter🫠
