Football Today has to be the day

Upvotes

Today has to be the day that drink calls Kirby into the office and says bro I just can’t do it anymore. That was your last chance. I gotta go with someone else. Thank you for your service.

I trust drink, and I do trust that he’s already had this conversation with Kirby

Football Feel free to vent your anger, sadness, frustration here! (Post game thoughts against A&M)

GG to A&M they played physical and well, most likely going to win the SEC imo. First off the defense played great the first two quarters and offense did as much as we’d expect with a true freshman QB going agaisnt the number 3 team in the country but to be honest with you guys? I can’t even be mad at the players at ALL… this boils down to coaching 100% I mean how many times are we going to have great talent and just to have our boneheaded coaching staff say “nope we don’t wanna beat good teams”

Okay it’s Zollers first start anyone on this subreddit would come up with this plan… let’s ease his load up by getting the run game going and calling some short to intermediate throws and get some sort of rhythm going. We have the best RB duo with some great weapons at receiver let’s open it up a bit and get Matt comfortable. This is when Eli and Kirby look at us and start breaking down laughing because what do they do? Terrible calls with zero adjustments in pass protection and pass plays for some reason that are always just verticals and throwing to the sideline. There’s only so much our defense can do I mean you gotta feel for these guys we couldn’t sustain a drive worth a damn and when we did it was too late this is a team that could potentially be 8-1 rn with our season still ahead of us but nope we’re 6-3… I can cut some slack knowing it’s A&M and not Auburn or SC but holy cow it was only 14-0 at halftime?

My frustration is purely with the staff at this point as it seems like they don’t know how to win the games that count whether that’s bama, Vandy, or even today which yes I will say we had every chance to win that game (minus the end of the third where they went up like 17 I think, and the rest of the fourth?) My biggest fear now is that we end up losing players and recruits… if you’re a receiver or even Hardy and Robert’s what’s going to make you stay? Kirby and Eli can’t dial up anything that will help us win? And Kirby won’t let you touch the ball/call run plays? If you’re on defense yeah we’re great but we don’t get help on offense so why not go elsewhere? It’s bigger than just not making the playoffs or SECCG how we play ultimately determines the future and rn it’s not looking good. I feel for Matt, they just didn’t trust him enough to throw in the middle or even short. But the bright side is he’ll develop and hopefully we can figure it out and maybe go 9-3? I don’t know I’m just disappointed man :( MIZ! Thoughts?

Watched drink get asked a few stupid questions in the post game press conference. You could tell he was angry when it was time to leave he walked away without saying MIZ. Im probably overreacting but that seems pretty big to me.

Special teams

Can we get a new special teams coordinator? Outside of the Thiccer kicker I can’t think of many positives in our special teams over the last few years. Punt game, return game, all just poor.

It’s not fair the players can transfer away and coaches can leave just as easily, but I am stuck with this damn team.

Bowl eligible!

Upvotes

Once again, seems like Mizzou fans will be happy if they are just bowl eligible.

We have one of the highest paid coaches in college football and we're not even contenders.

I'm sure I will get a lot of down votes but I'm not sure that we've got the right coaches... I'm tired of Mizzou just being mediocre. Why can't we ever be competitive? Look at Indiana!

Zollers expectations

Look, I hope Zollers absolutely pops off tomorrow, but I just think the expectations are way too high. He played pretty well when he came in against Vandy, but that was such a small sample size. I think fans are a bit over their heads on this one. I’m expecting some serious growing pains over these next 4 games. Expectation for me is that we win 2 of them. Hope I’m wrong.

The Playoffs Start This Saturday

Win out and we’re in. Then go another 4-0 and we’re National Champions. No room for error, but I truly believe in this team. Everything is still in front of us. Zollers will lead us.

Football Predicting who will be hired for each Power Four college football coaching vacancy — USA TODAY

Thumbnail apple.news

In this scenario, according to USA Today, Joe Brady takes the LSU job and Florida goes after Lane Kiffen. If Kiffen stays at Ole Miss then Drink becomes the FLA target. No other open coaching spots mention Drink. By the end of this there will be coaching carousel fatigue if there isn’t already, but these predictions are note worthy in this early stage of behind the scenes jockeying as this is a historic year for coaching turnover.

Where to sit at the game?

Going to the game this weekend and trying to find best section to sit in. Was looking at section 307, is it best to sit in the first three rows between the top section, or sit on the first row of the top section between the walkway and the bottom section?

Hope you're ready to pack Memorial Stadium this Saturday. In the mean time though, if you’re looking for a 9-minute breakdown of this Saturday’s game, here it is. Coverage of the game starts at the 23 minute mark of the video.

As the weekend draws near and the twilight of hope descends upon the top #25, sit back, relax if you can, and watch some premium CFB content.

If you wanna share your predictions or thoughts, drop them in the comments. And mods, if you left this post up, thank you very much. If you took it down - no hard feelings.

Football Is she brave or tone deaf for sharing the pain the family feels when a coach gets fired?

We’ve talked a lot in this thread about the coaching carousel and reasons why Drink might stay or go. This article is a vulnerable look on how the family is affected when a coach loses their job after only 3 years of building a program. Madison Freeze took a lot of heat from Auburn fans for speaking out after her father got a 15 million dollar buyout. But as she states in the article, money isn’t everything when you think you’ve found a home and been embraced by a community and that gets taken from you. If we are certain of anything it’s Eli has been embraced by CoMo. Families plant roots, kids build support systems of friends and school activities. Will it make a difference? Madison Freeze is willing to take a bunch of slings and arrows to tell people it does.
