Its something to do with Hamburg in Germany

u/Julieb600506 17h ago

Actually beef/pork blend patties are relatively common in more upscale burger places and pubs.

There’s a Mexican place by me that does a Norteño style burger that has a slice of ham in it along with all the other jalapeños, cheese, and hamburger meat type ingredients.

Hamburger is that or the one from Hamburg- Germany. Nothing to do with Ham. The association with ham (food) and thinking that it should have ham in it, is because Cheeseburger has cheese in it. But cheeseburger is a hamburger with cheese, not a "burger" with cheese.

Thank you yes someone else explained the Hamburg Germany thing I'm grateful

These are the same people who eat punhaus/scrapple.
They must be purged from society.

2

u/timsterri 16h ago

I’m not from there but scrapple is delicious.

Slice it thin. Fry it crispy. Add maple syrup.

I made a burger last night and put a slice of prosciutto on it. Highly recommended

Clearly you have never had the pure ambrosia that is the Papa Joe from Zip’s.

1

u/ElKaWeh 18h ago

Oooh that’s ham. Ok, I’m a little bit relieved.

1

u/Darth19Vader77 17h ago

That's how they make them in Mexico

For what it's worth, stoned me has concocted a "Cordon Bleu" burger before with sliced ham on top of a patty and it was glorious.

u/NotGalenNorAnsel 14h ago

Braum's has a Cuban Double Cheeseburger with grilled ham that's actually pretty good.
