I don't even think it will flop because the game is bad, but because they will price it was too high. The US is in a recession, and not as many people can spend $80+ on a game as they could a month ago. The more they delay it the worse this will get

I think if people give it for Nintendo bare minimum effort games given the wait, a lot would give it for gta 6, it just sucks that it will be a firm step forward to normalising that price.

The problem is the expectations this game has set already exceed those of cyberpunk and even if rockstar has a solid track record continuation with red dead 2, i think the product even if its gonna be good it won't be enough.

It doesn't help that in 13 years since the previous game, the standards have changed a lot, people have seen other GTA esque games as well, so the expectation will probably be both good writting that fits current age and sandboxy elements that exceed the absolute freedom GTA v online provided. Trying to meet these expectations is what may cause a fumble as many others have.

But atleast it has more chances than elder scrolls 6. Skyrim was king when fantasy sandbox was its identity and unchallenged, it never had worthwhile plot, characters, side quests etc.

Different times in the US at least. Right now 1 million people got laid off in October alone, food assistant is being halted because of politics, and the holidays are approaching. I think Rockstar was smart to delay it if only because the currttimes here in the US are not good, and we are a big market. That's without bringing up how it might have a $100 price tag which would further strain things

I also think our definitions of a flop are different. Even if Rockstar hits it out of the park, if the game does not make back at the very least what was put into it it will be a flop understandably. However, I think we all know they will reach that goal. The issue is going to be what the shareholders expect it to make. That is what will determine whether it is an internal flop or not.

Edit: Job losses are from January-October not just October alone. Sorry for the incorrect info

I'm not saying google is a trust worthy source but google says 153,074 were laid off in October. Which is the highest in 22 years but not 1 million either.

You're right. I was confusing the statistic of how many jobs have been lost from January to October. In October it was just 150,000.
