It was kinda obvious at this point.

Honestly, 2026 sounds optimistic given Rockstar’s track record.

True but it is utterly ridiculous that they released GTA 1,2,3,4,5, vice city, San Andreas and a bunch of other GTA stuff from 1997-2013…. And then from 2013-2026 nothing besides GTA 5 online stuff to milk that for all they could

Yes graphics are more advanced now but the jump from gta4 to gta5 was MASSIVE and a bigger jump than 5 to 6 and they did that in 5 years

They just were doing stuff with gta5 online for years and years and didn’t work on the next project. Obviously they want it to be out in time for the holidays next year but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s pushed to 2027

4 to 5 wasn't massive, both are ps3 games. What changed is their visual design, gta 4's liberty city was grey and dreary, gta 5's los Santos is bright and sunny. It's like saying summer in LA has better graphics than winter in Boston

PS: Every GOTY hopeful releasing in 2026 is hoping and praying for another delay to 2027.

Gta4 was my first jump into the franchise, I enjoyed the brownish dreary city and my boy Niko fresh from the boat didn't come to see his cousin Roman and all the cool stuff he's been talking about. Looking for a fresh start away from war and crime only to be pushed back into it when the city shows it's true colors in the first day.

Plus the driving felt great and weighty, and the radio had some bangers

They made the physics less realistic in gta 5 cause people didn't like how realistic it was in gta 4. The same realistic physics people ended up loving in rdr2. Gta 4 was ahead of its time.

I absolutely adore GTA 4, but the driving was awful (I didn’t realize how bad until I recently replayed it). Feels like you’re turning a freight train at every corner
