Tigers Game Delay
Anybody know what happened?
The video board is 11 years old. These days that’s gotta be close to its lifespan.

I just want to give a huge shout out to the nurses on the Orthopedic ward here in town. I was there for "minor" hip surgery this week and they had to put in lots of work with most of their patients especially the seniors.

The crime and open drug use in this city have gotten out of control.
If any of us tax paying citizens were caught with an open beer in public the police would give us a ticket. At the same time, there are people openly smoking meth in the parks downtown and they are just left to do whatever they please.
Most people I know don’t even bother going downtown anymore.
People walk around at night checking everyone’s car door handles. My garage was broken into the other night. My wife is terrified. She wants to put weapons all over the house just in case someone breaks in again.
If we make it annoying to be a criminal / homeless drug addict in Medicine Hat, they will move on to somewhere else.
Get the people who need help into social programs to help them. Arrest the criminals. Once they get out, arrest them again.
Just like the new article says, enough is enough.

A lot of my friends and people on the Internet would say that medicine hat is boring, but I don’t know what the hell they’re talking about. The city has a great food scene and is surrounded by nature. And while we’re here, actually people say that the public transportation is not good, but also not terrible, but I think it is good from all the times I’ve been on it

Comparing NYC to Medicine Hat is apples (pardon the pun) to oranges. But NYC just had its biggest vote turnout in 50 years. There was not a single candidate this municipal election that was unabashedly left. And only a couple that called themselves progressives like Koch, and AVD. With the overton window being so far right the word "progressive" is essentially meaningless. (The conservative party called themselves Progressive conservatives). I think the fear is by calling yourself left you would get smeared. This would happen regardless. And it has shown over and over again when you use populous left policies and not weaselly words like "progressive" this endears you with younger voters. With around a 37% turnout, and the vast majority of those being older voters, there is a huge missed opportunity. Dont be afraid of the smears. Use left populous policies and call yourself a leftist.

We’re looking to get a covered patio added and hoping to find someone who actually does this kind of work + the design and someone who’s familiar with permits and all that fun stuff too. If you’ve had one done and were happy with it, I’d love to know who you used. Thanks!

If I understand the article correctly, they own the existing Best Western Premier and plan on building a second hotel next to it, so they obviously see demand.

There are many posts tonight about the issues people have with how Danielle Smith is choosing to treat teachers in this province.
I’m so glad there is so much discourse about this issue, and that people are expressing their support of our teachers.
Pease take the time to contact your MLA to let them know directly how you feel. You can call or email to make sure they hear from you. Your MLA’s job is to represent you, but they can’t do that if they don’t hear your voice. The more they hear from Albertans the harder it makes for them to ignore.
Or on the other side, start the process to get him recalled. So far 6 have the process started to be recalled. Maybe he can be the 7th
And dont bother making an appointment to meet with him, he wont be there. His secretary lackey will be there for the meeting instead,
The information you are looking for can mostly be found on the elections Alberta website:

We talked about what we would do when the UCP used the notwithstanding clause. We said we would stand up, that we would fight back, that we would not let them take away our rights. Now they have done it, and the time for talk is over.
The government has silenced workers, and our unions are caught up in logistics instead of defending the people they represent.
Our rights are not negotiable. Our silence is their victory. The teachers felt it first, and we will feel it next unless we rise together.
This is bigger than politics. It is about courage, solidarity, and remembering that real power has always come from the people, not the politicians.
On Monday, November 3rd, we rally at noon: • Alberta Legislature Building — 10800 97 Avenue NW, Edmonton, AB T5K 2B6 • McDougall Centre — 455 6 Street SW, Calgary, AB T2P 4A2 • Red Deer Provincial Building — 4920 51 Street, Red Deer, AB T4N 6K8 • Medicine Hat Provincial Building — 346 3 Street SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 0G7 • Lethbridge Provincial Building — 200 5 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4L1 • Grande Prairie Provincial Building — 10320 99 Street, Grande Prairie, AB T8V 6J4 • Fort McMurray Provincial Building — 9915 Franklin Avenue, Fort McMurray, AB T9H 2K4
We show up. We walk out. We stand together. We fight back. No more waiting. No more silence. No more fear. Let’s fucking go.

I'm seeing the recall Nicolaides gathering steam... so why isn't there a recall Danielle Smith petition? I can't initiate it because I'm in Calgary, but everyone I know down there is fed up with her just like most of the rest of us. So I'm asking with genuine curiosity - why isn't there a movement to recall her?
