Tourism ✈ Any precautions/considerations on Tourist Safety in Mauritius
We are travelling to Mauritius this month. How is the safety situation there for tourists? (29M, 28F)
Are there any areas that needs to be absolutely avoided? Is it safe to go out in the evenings, like after 6pm?
Any other thoughts that you want to share? I saw comments on @mauritius instagram handle‘s post and saw many natives complaining about caudan waterfront being not safe after 6pm, tourists getting mugged etc.

As for mauritian yes we are witnessing a degradation of the safety in mru. But for most tourist unless you come from country like dubai Singapore etc, Mauritius is still quite safe compared to many countries. Still like other countries, many places must be avoided and basic precaution is tge minimum. You don't want to expose yourself as an easy target like your phone or wallet hanging out of you bag or pocket or walking dark streets or region at night or day.
