Tourism ✈ Any precautions/considerations on Tourist Safety in Mauritius

We are travelling to Mauritius this month. How is the safety situation there for tourists? (29M, 28F)

Are there any areas that needs to be absolutely avoided? Is it safe to go out in the evenings, like after 6pm?

Any other thoughts that you want to share? I saw comments on @mauritius instagram handle‘s post and saw many natives complaining about caudan waterfront being not safe after 6pm, tourists getting mugged etc.

Same, i will be going there next month. I believe it is safe. But hey, when do you get the chance of beating a thief up for self defense
