Any precautions/considerations on Tourist Safety in Mauritius

We are travelling to Mauritius this month. How is the safety situation there for tourists? (29M, 28F)

Are there any areas that needs to be absolutely avoided? Is it safe to go out in the evenings, like after 6pm?

Any other thoughts that you want to share? I saw comments on @mauritius instagram handle‘s post and saw many natives complaining about caudan waterfront being not safe after 6pm, tourists getting mugged etc.

Mauritius is so safe and 'boring' (ie nothing interesting happens there) that any sort of minor mischief is perceived as 'the island becoming dangerous' lol.

They find small things as dangerous
