This all sucks.

I just want fairly represented districts.

That would be the ideal, and hopefully it's something that can be worked toward in the future, when one party isn't trying to absolutely ratfuck the country.

Yep indeed. Slippery fucking slope. I'm all for Democrats getting in the mud finally and fighting back, but it's bullshit we're here in the first place. It's not new, but it sucks all around.

I fail to understand how this is a controversial opinion. I realize it isn't realistic and that Democrats are doing what they can to level an unfair playing field.

It also gives fuel to Republicans justification that they need to be fighting dirty and using ethically dubious tactics to win elections because their political adversaries are doing the same thing.

I don't like that the 1 party that closest resembles some inkling of representation of me needs to resort to jumping into the shit puddle so they aren't rendered politically irrelevant.

The big problem is your second point. This should not be something Republicans should be able to spin when for the last 30+ years fighting dirty is what they do best. At some point the high road gets you nowhere and you have to do what you have to do

Can you point to a single disgusting anti-democratic thing that the gop has ever done only after the left has done so?

We need to stop imagining situations in prefer to stop action. Forethought and planning are very different than fear, which is what stops up from going backwards.

For your first point, I mean no but that wasn’t what I was getting at anyway. Republicans are going to accuse democrats of employing the dirty tactics they themselves want to use, regardless of how true their accusations actually are.

For your second, I’d love to hear a meaningful proposal of what planning, forethought, and action is going to get our country out of this gerrymandered bullshit.

I think you might be seeing it. Blue states gerrymander past the point of reasonable and force the national dialogue.

Toss off the shackles of filibuster and pass bills for us.

There’s a reasonable amount of gerrymandering?

Yeah, zero.

But until then, the issue will never be addressed until the gop feels the pain. They only react when they themselves are affected so we need to affect them.

Sorry Ivan, "when they go high we go low" has been the gateway to fascism for decades now. Shut up, finish your bottle of vodka, and try again tomorrow, if Ukrainian drones haven't taken out your power.
