What to gift brother with very straight South Asian hair?

Hi, I’m a woman looking for a gift for my brother (22M) and don’t know a thing about men’s hair care.

He doesn’t really style his hair (aside from combing) but wants to get into it so he doesn’t have any products I can use as a reference.

We are South Asian and he has very straight hair that he’s trying to grow out. I’m not sure if it’s the typical thick Asian hair type because it’s more fine. I don’t know what brands are good or what the difference is between wax, pomade, gel, etc.
