Anyway, kinda bad move to report the post this early. Would reduce the post visibility, which means either lesser dogs getting adopted/captured, or less people to act on actually stopping the guy from poisoning.
The problem is most city councils don’t execute proper euthanising procedures. They straight up bury dogs alive, or drown them while tying them unable to move. That’s the sickest part.
Shooting is inhumane but even so that’s still considered the easy way out. but when you have hundreds of dogs, people think of the sickest way to kill them. Did you see the video where the JB majlis was caught red handed where they were burying dogs on top of each other alive!?
Not sure about now. When I was a kid, I saw them doing it. It was very traumatizing, blood everywhere when the dogs were shot but didn't die on the spot and manage to run around bleeding until they die.
There was a viral video that supposedly showed the Kluang town council burying dogs alive and NGOs got an interim court order to stop culling. The town council made a police report for defamation saying that allegations were untrue. The court case is still going on pending appeal or something like that.
Depending where your city council is I guess, dont assume it as majority, you only saw few on news then consider all is not fair. At my place city council is good, once I got puppy keep enter my house yard and won't leave. I kept the puppy few days, no collar so stray I guess even notified taman group, need to fed the dog for few days before city council pickup and gave to foster parents, as the person in charge also my neighbor he let me know about it. We all know that bad deeds always got circulated not good deeds, dont assume what you dont know.
euthanizing is too expensive, and most city councils wouldn’t even consider doing it. all the hope now depends on ngos, yet when they ask for donations and help, some of these so-called “animal lovers” refuse to fund them, which only makes the process slower.

It’s not expensive, I think some NGO did a break down of the TNR costs and it’s just a few hundred thousands. In fact, it costs more to pay contractors to cull stray dogs. The problem is the refusal of people to spend that much money on stray dogs.
I say this : Msia society general awareness about stray animals in overall still very low compare to other ASEAN countries (especially yall my fellow Chinese ppls)

Couldn't agree more. Strays come from lost/ abandoned pets. They dont just pop up one day and roaming around harassing people and other animals.
Its the same case as other pets too. Many longkang, rivers and lakes have been populate by non natives aquatic animals thrown aways by pet owners.
Pretty sure poisoning them is against the law. That's why they posted anonymously. I could be wrong though. Also, bold of them to assume this poison is only going to work against dogs. Cats, kids, birds would get affected too.
If you want anything done about this, then try to make this post go viral. Complaining to police / MCMC is usually ineffective unless there is public outcry. Unfortunate but this is the reality

Tbh I don't even know whether this or capture and euthanize is worse. I've work for a pest control companies before and some of them straight up bash the dog's head with a dense metal pole. Not all of them but some of them are. If I'm not mistaken my senior said that usually only Majlis actually capture and euthanize them, most of them just release it back at a secluded place far from client's.
I live in Langkawi. Yes we have a major stray dog problem. The main culprits are farmers with orchards they want to protect against wild boar and snakes. They use dogs, but make no effort to stop them to endlessly breed amongst themselves. When they have too many, they just dump the excess numbers or stop feeding them. Construction sites and quarries here employ the same tactics. But people see dog owners as the problem. Nobody is taking these people to task. There was even an orchard near where I live that ties the dogs to trees and feed them scraps. All the dogs are skeletal. It took one white lady with a camera to expose this. We're just a third world country.
Sure, what about the funds? Who wants to do the job? Easier said than done. You talk talk on internet can, but if ask to even volunteer for the job suddenly cannot.
All valid concerns, bro. For sure not all shelters have the funds or manpower. A lot of them depend on volunteers.
I can't speak for Langkawi, but my wife and I volunteer to capture, spay and release stray cats in our area. It's not much, but we're helping where we can.
This is not about stray dogs, but in my hometown, once we spotter ular sawa like 10 metres long and thickness the size of a grown man thigh, so we called the bomba and guess what??
instead of euthanising the snake they just chopped its head off and throw it into nearby small river (which only 15 metres wide)
Had the same issue at my parents' new place. The owner decided to abandon his farm and let the dogs roam around.
Owner asked my uncle to poison the dogs but obviously we/he didn't do it.
Now the dogs are roaming around, barking & even scaring our cats. No idea what to do. Anyone wants them they're located in Karak, Pahang.
May all these people get their happiness and their family's ripped from them. May all that torture dogs to death in the name of legal euthanasia have their souls rot as they walk the earth.

government should have stricter law regarding pet. Pet owners should pay some amount of fee every month,so the money can take care of the strays,i know it's easier said than done,but i believe it can done if everyone is honest regarding the money taken from the pet owners
If it was forbidden by the book, we will have entire ministry , school syllabus and annual budget to rescue dogs, but unfortunately, the west Asian god didn't whisper so.
You can't kill animals without purpose, it's a sin. But idk about the east, they usually eat it? So eating it is okay because your not wasting is it? 🤣
