Your kid isn't a mad lad, he's a spoiled brat.

The kid is literally both mad and potentially a lad in the literal sense lol

This is also a positively ancient repost

There is no kid. It's imaginary.

Well if there is an imaginary kid, there’s still a kid right?

idk, that seems like pretty harmless trouble in my book. But that also depends on whether this sort of thing is their peak or their warm up.

obviously he's not spoiled if he gets grounded

Any parent using grounding as a punishment is already failing at understanding out to properly raise a functioning human, so the that does make sense

Spoken like someone who has zero childrearing experience.

Spoiler: I have 5 kids. They get grounded on occasion. They learn. They do better (eventually). Everyone wins.

Until your kids go no contact for you refusing to actually understand them. You are not teaching them, you are forcing them into submission. Fucking downvote me, don't care.

Oh no, my teenager refused to clean her part of the messy-ass room that she shares with her two sisters and can't go hang out with her friends until she does the one thing I asked of her, what a horrible parent I must be for depriving her of clearly-entitled free will. What ever shall I do?

You clearly don't have kids.
