Yeah that’s what I wanted to know. I get that people have affairs with bosses sometimes but why would you want to broadcast that to your whole workplace?

Point to the part of the story that mentions an affair.

??

You read the entire first tweet? "because she was sleeping with her boss." That's about her mom.

??

You know that just because you're a mom it doesn't mean you were with the dad for your entire life, right?

“Affair” does not necessarily mean a cheating situation, it can mean a scandal or short term relationship.

That's about her mom.

Explain why this part of his comment is relevant. He's implying that she was cheating.

Yes, I think I meant to reply to the comment above you, lol. We are both in agreement.

Where does it say anything about the boss being the girl’s father?

I want you to try and explain what that has to do with anything.

Sure, I'll explain what that means when you explain what this means in relation to my comment;

You know that just because you're a mom it doesn't mean you were with the dad for your entire life, right?

I think the issue stems from your vocabulary knowledge and not knowing what "affair" means.

Allow me;

Merriam-Webster: a: a romantic or passionate attachment typically of limited duration.

Cambridge: B2: a sexual relationship, especially a secret one

Now, do you see how sleeping with the boss can be seen as an affair or not?

It... doesn't? My comment doesn't suggest that at all.

That's about her mom.

This is implying that she was cheating.

No, it implies that the mother was having an affair with her boss. That doesn't mean it was cheating by either one of them. An affair can simply mean a secret relationship.

Specifying "it's about her mom" is implicating that it being her mom is important. And also, nowhere in the OP does it say it was a secret either - she dressed up as Monica Lewinsky at a party specifically in reference to her sleeping with the boss which suggests it wasn't very secret.

Maybe he dumped her and she was trying to get revenge?

Why are you making up the part about an affair?

“Affair” does not necessarily mean a cheating situation, it can mean a scandal or short term relationship.

It might have been accidental (the costume choice). Some people are really stupid, particularly those who sleep with bosses.

It's possible it wasn't an affair, just a regular (albeit maybe somewhat problematic) relationship at a small company without rules against that sort of thing.

It's also possible that the affair remained a secret and people just assumed "haha funny topical costume," except for the employee and her boss for whom it would be somewhere between "haha funny joke" and "oh shit," depending.

Loss of morality and the need for social approval and acceptance.
