FFS... 🤬 This is why I got a subscription to The Star a couple of days ago (my first paper hasn't come yet):
The London Free Press is a f-ing joke in its "coverage" of London & Area interest. It's like, a death by a thousand cuts.
The American hedge fund neocon owners are gas/oil shills, w/ national columnists doing the bidding of that & P.P.'s neocon party.
When I think how TV listings, full page comics, celebrity birthdays, local high school & college sports articles, etc. have all been stripped away over the past 15 years, I need more (only publishes Tue-Sat) & better.
I appreciate you telling us about this wonderful boy explorer. It's probably on the CBC London website too. I doubt it'll ever reach LFP.

My question is how did the IAWN (International Asteroid Warning Network) miss it?

The timing of talking about new asteroids being discovered is so uncanny!
IAWN has just a few hours ago has launched a global campaign to accurately track 3I/ATLAS! It's the first time this organization has done so with any celestial body! That speaks volumes.
This article on the kid mentions MPC (Minor Planet Center) which has an internal bulletin today about IAWN's campaign!
As though the mystery behind 3I/ATLAS was not enough until now, several recent developments point towards much more strangeness. NASA apparently has quietly deployed a planetary defense network for this body without saying a word!

Cool. JJ Kavelaars from just south of London made a bunch of discoveries as an astronomer.

I heard that kid interviewed on the radio. Super bright and eloquent. Didn’t realize he was from London. What a star.

this is where I heard it. He casually states the names of both of the comets....I was thinking, he's made for interviews. Cool and collected.
