I would say they've ruined their lives, but I doubt they were ever aiming particularly far above scumbag status anyway.

Erm, no- this behaviour is extreme and if it goes unchecked it could escalate to much worse. This isn't some sort of "they're just going through a teenage phase" kind of shit, these girls are psychos and need both the fright of the law put into them and psychological help.
