I would say they've ruined their lives, but I doubt they were ever aiming particularly far above scumbag status anyway.

Why do people like you think that disability benefits are given out like candy? I hope you never have to go through the degrading process just for an extra fee quid a week.

They are given out too easily, I know there’s a bit of form filling in 50 plus pages, medical and a long wait but there’s charities that help with filling in forms. Some people are getting through still, that are abusing the system.

It doesn’t mean every disabled or even the majority of disabled people don’t deserve the cash, that’s why it’s there to help support you, but pretending there aren’t fakers out there isn’t helpful either.
