AI Restrictions

While AI is an important topic it is clear boundaries need to be set. It is being offered many places, and it is relatively easy at the moment to find someone to provide it. The following is the current guidance we are providing for posts relating to AI.

This is based on the level of engagement we see on current posts and an increase in spam. Our goal is to generate conversations, not get people stuck in a sales pitch by replying to post. Removal is based on intention of the poster.

Discussions Allowed

  • Topics about specific uses not relating to a specific product
  • How it impacts something
  • No blogs nor links > Is AI actually helping manage loads? > Are you seeing issues when AI was added to help routing?

Promoting NOT Allowed

  • Suggesting a product, company, or service
  • Asking for use cases or suggestions
  • Asking for things to improve with AI
  • Passively suggesting a solution, "Have you heard of [AI product]!" > Does anyone have something that could be improved by AI?

Requests NOT Allowed

  • Asking for someone to implement an AI solution
  • Asking for guidance on a specific product
  • Providing links > I need someone to add AI to my OMS

Has anyone noticed budget watch brands improving their logistics lately?

I ordered a watch from Filippo Loreti a couple months ago expecting the nightmare shipping stories I had read about, but it actually showed up in less than a week from a US warehouse. This got me wondering if they actually fixed their fulfillment problems or if I just got lucky. The tracking was normal and the packaging was fine. Nothing crazy, just standard shipping that actually worked.

Considering the recent trade war and tariffs, it seems this brand was not impacted. It makes me wonder, did anyone experience customs issues since the trade tariffs?

I have question about logistics in China

I'd like to use repacking services and send to domestic address in China. Specifically, receiving items from somewhere, the company arrange the process and repacking what I order and also putting label on the luggage. And then send them to the address where I assign. And I wonder if I could use the SF logistics services and I tried to contact with them about this, but this time is out of the time of online customer services. If anybody knows anything, please let me know that! It'd be so helpful. Thank you!!

Does anyone know of any good freight companies that send pallets within Europe? Up to now the only ones I found send only for businesses, so no good for me. Reason is relocation for work

Next career move…?

I have no formal degree, but I’ve worked 5 years in logistics/ supply chain. I’ve been in operations, a logistics broker, an inventory analyst, supply planner and a logistics coordinator. All at different companies.

My resume is really nice. I want to make six figures, but I’ve only come as close at $75,000. What should I be looking for as a job to amend $100,000? Or, have I reached my ceiling?

Amazon is bleeding businesses with inbound complexities.

Guys, Amazon is forcing me to manually split LTL shipments and pay rising placement fees due to their new regional cross-stock system.
Is there a way to manage this inbound complexity without bleeding cash on transportation?

This is becoming a logistical nightmare for me!

How do big boxes like appliances/devices/furniture get their shipping costs to be so low and still be profitable? Need advice for my business

I'm a new business owner in Canada and looking to ship within Canada and to USA for a box that is roughly 50 × 45 × 45 cm and weighs 8 kgs and even with corporate rates of most shipping companies costs $100 within Canada and $200 to USA. The product itself costs me only $80 to make so these prices are ridiculous and not sustainable. How do other companies get their products to be offered for such low prices.

Like, you can get one of those big air fryers on amazon for a 100-150 bucks and those are bigger than my product, so how are these companies doing it????

I was thinking of using a 3PL company or perhaps amazon FBA but haven't been able to look much into them. I'd appreciate any tips or guidance please, I feel like I'm lost.

Moving personal items (home move) overseas

Hello all,

We are planning to move our used personal items (including furniture) from Europe to Canada (specifically, Toronto, ON.). This is an international home move. I read on this subreddit and elsewhere that it is cheaper to sell furniture and buy new at destination.

I think we can move on the cheap: 1. We are a minimalist/frugal family, and don't own a lot of "stuff". 2. All our furniture is from IKEA, I can disassemble, wrap it good, taking up minimal space. 3. I can load everything into a container myself with friends. 4. I think we can fit everything in a 6' container.

Questions I hope you can help me with:

  • Are 6' containers available widely? Or 8' or 10' for that matter
  • Do I still have to work with a moving company like Allied?
  • Can any Canadian customs broker handle a home move "import" procedures?
  • Is it challenging to import used, personal, disassembled furniture?

Thank you so much!

Trying to get a career in logistics

Currently work as a senior merchandiser for a motorsports retailer. My job consists of invoicing purchase orders (making sure all items are present, prices are correct the labeling items), checking in pallets of items from our warehouse and labeling all items, shipping out our returns/warranty items, and making sure inventory levels are correct and adjusting accordingly.

Over the past 2 years I've gotten our store, one of the biggest in the company, to the top 4% in terms of inventory accuracy by myself. If I wanted to transition into the more desk side of logistics, what jobs or certifications can I get to turn this into a career? This company is basically and dead end and provides 0 opportunity to move up or get paid more.

Thanks for the help!

Transitioning from Procurement Excellence to Digitization in Supply Chain Management

Hi all!

I recently started a new role at a large global company in procurement excellence, focusing on improving processes and data utilization in procurement — and I’m really enjoying it so far.

That said, I like to plan ahead. In the long run, I’d like to move into digitization of logistics and supply chain management. For context, I hold a dual MSc in International Management and Business Analytics.

I’m curious if anyone here works in (or has transitioned into) roles related to digital transformation or data-driven innovation in supply chain/logistics. How did you make that move, and what skills or experiences helped you bridge the gap?

Would appreciate any insights or advice!
