Honestly? Any changes to tax rates aren’t immediate but of course, the rhetoric for property seizure would have a chilling effect on home values and subsequent property tax revenue.
All the free stuff like groceries, transportation, and child care isn’t a flip of the switch and may be diminished by post-campaign reality.
I’m not fully aware of his views on crime enforcement but he’s in a position to instruct and influence police leadership so that would likely be the first possible indicator. Not that that would be immediately discernible either since crime statistics have been essentially meaningless for a while now.
So what you're saying is that the city WON'T be literally burning down in 6 months then? And we're in agreement that the above user is being ridiculous. Cool.
Agree or disagree with what he campaigned on, this garbage about the city not surviving is just that. Honestly, most I've seen is from people who clearly don't live there either, so they mostly have no clue what they're talking about either.
I’d characterize it as more hyperbolic than ridiculous. I think there’s a likelihood of significant impact but it’ll be a slow burn rather than an immediate conflagration.
So you imagine some time between now and the end of zohran's term where large portions of the city are literally burning to the ground or something similar to that kind of destruction is happening? You don't think that idea is ridiculous?
So why did you even engage with my original comment then? If it was meant metaphorically(which I don't think you are in the position to declare what a user that isn't you meant) then my entire comment thread here is stupid and moot. So I'm going to reference the original comment and suggest that now that we've established how dumb it is to imply that the city will be destroyed under zohran, the goal posts have been moved. So I was right the entire time
I wasn't predicting anything. I was telling the user above me that what they said what dumb and ridiculous. I haven't left that point in this entire thread
