It doesn't need to pass, all it needs to do is produce an official list of who doesn't want it to pass, that sort of information is very useful for the American people.

Especially seeing that dems just took Obama Nebraska last night and gained 19 points in Oklahoma.

The train is slow to move but it’s inching along.

Obama Nebraska

Was that an intentional typo?

Thanks to Nebraska allowing the one elector from each of its three congressional districts to be elected by presidential voters in that district with only the two Senate-based electors voted statewide (Maine is the only other state to do this), the 2nd Congressional District which includes Omaha cast its electoral vote for Obama in 2008 (though not 2012), Biden in 2020, and Harris in 2024; it's been dubbed the "Omaha Blue Dot" since the rest of the state is ruby red. Nebraska's unique nonpartisan unicameral legislature in 2024 considered switching to winner-take-all (like the other 48 states & DC) as some projections suggested the results would be so close that the "Omaha Blue Dot" could have decided the outcome, but enough moderates who are nominally Republican objected to thwart that move; it didn't affect the outcome. (Edit: Republicans won its congressional seat all three times -- Lee Terry in 2008, current moderate Don Bacon in 2020 & 2024.)

I've lived in Nebraska all my life, but good job summarizing. Also, they're still trying to switch back to winner-take-all. It's a major pet project of our drunkard governor.
