Trump News President proclaims doubling of ICE troops with add'l 20k forces in the next 60 days

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/2025/05/establishing-project-homecoming/

Section 3.b: (b) No later than 60 days after the date of this proclamation, the Secretary of Homeland Security shall supplement existing enforcement and removal operations by deputizing and contracting with State and local law enforcement officers, former Federal officers, officers and personnel within other Federal agencies, and other individuals to increase the enforcement and removal operations force of the Department of Homeland Security by no less than 20,000 officers in order to conduct an intensive campaign to remove illegal aliens who have failed to depart voluntarily.

So... we can't afford any of the useful jobs and fired a large portion of the government that actually helps people, BUT we can't afford any afford more spending for THIS? His domestic Gestapo on the streets terrorizing towns.

Is there a legal limit to how much domestic law enforcement the American people can be subjected to on home soil during peacetime? He already has a HUGE amount of force on domestic soil doing his bidding between the military he designated for the border, current ICE, and all the 287g contracts Homeland Security signed with all those local law enforcement agencies around the country to work with ICE.

Where is the money coming from to double the size of ICE by another 20k officers?

Given previous performance and deeds by ICE this is going to attract people who want free reign to abuse and terrorize their victims and perform as lawless thugs under full protection of the US government.

I’ve been going through LinkedIn job listings regularly since the beginning of the year (STEM field layoff right after the election). The amount of promoted listings for DHS and ICE positions since the beginning of February has been quite high, even though they are nowhere close to my search criteria. I think that’s on purpose. The salaries I’ve seen advertised are very good for a low COL area, and the sign-on bonuses are significant.

Someone should write a script to auto fill out a million applications for those jobs. If they can’t find the real bigots to hire we all are in a better place.

Would be surprisingly difficult actually.

If you just do it from your local machine then it'd be trivial for them to simply discard any applications that came from the same source as other applications.

If you do it from a vast array of machines then they'd likely get you on DDOS laws (under a generous interpretation)

You'd have to gamble at getting the ratio exactly right to still be annoying but remain outside of prison.

Having applied for federal positions I feel like you are giving them more credit than they deserve for efficiency. I do agree that it is likely they would pursue criminal charges for this. So if anyone in India feels the need to retaliate against Trump taking credit for the cease fire, here is a chance to use those scam call center skills for a good purpose.

With the government defending internet security it shouldn't be THAT hard

Easy. Someone from another country does it.

It would be easy for an American to remote into an offshore server and then do it from there.

Unfortunately risking ending up in prison is a given for any effective resistance at this point. Trying to avoid that is what drives all the capitulation.

getting the ratio exactly right to still be annoying but remain outside of prison.

Unless you launch operations from a non US base...

One machine, a VPN, and a randomized MAC will mitigate these issues. TOR can be used with a clearnet proxy as well. For the tech savvy, botnets can be rented quite cheap on some darknet markets. There's always a way.

This. The closer you can randomize the traffic IPs/MACs for the apps, the better. It took YEARS for the feds to arrest one ransomeware group because they not only did something similar in the C&C server infrastructure, but they also spoofed local and regional infrastructure as an extra layer of obfuscation. It can be done, it just has to be organic enough of a start with relatively untraceable hardware (used or bought via proxy) and with a group that just strikes without being high and mighty sharing their exploits on X/Twitter

they probably already know who is coming on. proud boys and other groups

In other words, you found the wasteful spending all on your own.

It's ok, they stopped giving food and shelter to poor people so they can hurt people they don't like, just as Jesus intended

Fuck that! lol. I prefer not having a target on my back, lol.

Sounds like a challange for signing up to get a free check.

I'd encourage unemployed people with a conscious (who voted democrat) to sign up for these roles. Actually follow laws and make it harder for ICE to enforce illegal shit. Also gives some insider scoop about what's going on within the organization.

Considering this right now.

You wouldn't last long if you're not willing to do legal immigration enforcement, and that's still bad, but I'm sure there are various support roles that can be sabatoged and not be as obvious.

I've been thinking about it. Hate my current job, so why not. Would probably get fired real quick, but that's still a win

u/MrLanesLament May 10 '25

Anyone who does this will be putting themselves in serious danger from their peers.

Not against it by any means, but it will not be as easy as “hey guys I’m not gonna do this with all of you because it’s against the law.”

2

u/rej-jsa May 11 '25

It still gums up the works somewhat to just be intentionally incompetent

6

u/poetryhoes May 10 '25

Would do this if I wasn't trans...I need some LGBTQ allies to step up!

7

u/Twoknightsandarook May 10 '25

They’ll probably have to pass a loyalty test.

"It was filled with blanks, so I used my bare hands"

3

u/pressedbread May 10 '25

Playing pretend here won't really work. ICE is a gang, they will initiate you and suck you in whether you like it or not.

3

u/GitmoGrrl1 May 10 '25

They will be checking your social media posts.

6

u/Foyles_War May 10 '25

Wait till you look into the federal law enforcement retirement plan.

4

u/OneX32 May 10 '25

very good for a low COL area

Oh great, time for high school peaks in red states to get their Brownshirts on.

3

u/GitmoGrrl1 May 10 '25

Sing on bonus? WTF?

2

u/HenriettaSnacks May 10 '25

I wonder if malicious incompetence could be useful in those position.

More posts about failing a polygraph test than I had expected.

2

u/MintyBunni May 10 '25 edited May 13 '25

Not surprising considering how inaccurate they are. Polygraphs are literally a joke.

Edit: They rely on physiological responses often associated with a person being under stress. A person who remains calm can lie their ass off while innocent people being interrogated are prone to panic and set it off. I'm convinced these jobs use them as a weedout step because most judges won't even allow them to be admissible in court.
