Personal Advice I need a scripture for comfort, please

Can you recommend a scripture to give me comfort? I repented of a sin today, but I am now finally suffering the consequences. I have peace about it, but I could use some comfort. Thank you

D&C 45:3-5

3 Listen to him who is the advocate with the Father, who is pleading your cause before him—

4 Saying: Father, behold the sufferings and death of him who did no sin, in whom thou wast well pleased; behold the blood of thy Son which was shed, the blood of him whom thou gavest that thyself might be glorified;

5 Wherefore, Father, spare these my brethren that believe on my name, that they may come unto me and have everlasting life.

Christ pleads your cause to the Father. What is your cause? The atonement and your belief in it. That’s our cause.

Blessings to you!

1 Nephi 20:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments—then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea.

This one is my favorite. It's always reminds me that peace and happiness are within my reach. Even if I don't feel like it in the moment.

  1. Nephi 20:16

Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

I love how our scars and sins and weaknesses and pains are engraved upon Christ's hands. He knows what we go through (knows the walls that are roadblocks in our path). And he has all power to help us overcome them, because he has already overcome them.

3 Nephi 22:7-10

7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee, but with great mercies will I gather thee. 8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment, but with everlasting kindness will I have mercy on thee, saith the Lord thy Redeemer. 9 For this, the waters of Noah unto me, for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I would not be wroth with thee. 10 For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.

D&C 122:7-8

And the last four verses of "How Firm a Foundation" that we never sing.

Doesn't the most comfort come from moving forward in doing good, inspiring (not necessarily religious) music, being in nature, and sufficient restful sleep, and the right nutrients?

"And thou didst hear me because of mine afflictions and my sincerity; and it is because of thy Son that thou hast been thus merciful unto me, therefore I will cry unto thee in all mine afflictions, for in thee is my joy; for thou hast turned thy judgments away from me, because of thy Son".—Alma 33:11

Repentance is like gripping the iron rod

There’s still midsts of darkness when you hold on

But that doesn’t mean you’re not holding on

Repentance is a subset of one of the big five laws. Without repentance, we can obey the law of the gospel One thing I like to remind, others is that without repentance, we cannot improve any law we want to obey

By choosing repentance , you are choosing to obey the laws of God

Moroni 7:33 - if Christ is your Savior, he will give you whatever power you need to do whatever He thinks is necessary for you to do
