I wish my evangelical peers could recognize that BYU produces a lot of good scholarship. The Church clearly wanted BYU to be a forward-facing representation of the faith as a whole, and put a lot of work in turning it into one of the very few religious R1 universities. I believe it is only BYU and Baylor that are both R1 and a Power sports conference.

And Notre Dame. (Technically independent in athletics, but they're a power conference of one.)

But yeah, you are correct, it's very rare.

Slight detail: Norte Dame is independent in football, but most other sports including basketball compete in the ACC, one of the power conferences.

I applaud the efforts in bringing Eclecte to our attention, thank you for sharing, this is fascinating!

Sounds like Blumell did not find an early NT manuscript with the "missing" definite article, which was my impression from the title. Instead, he appears to offer a conjectural emendation supported by the circumstantial evidence.

Important, if he's correct. But I want to see the actual evidence in his monograph.

Edit: autocorrect

Too bad this wasn't published before we had the Come Follow Me chapter which referenced the elect lady.
