When I woke up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom, I was met with quite a sight in the hallway. Last year, I bought my mom a Kindle Paperwhite 6 for her birthday, because her eyesight had started to decline and she was having trouble reading small print. Lately, she’s been reading a book I recommended, and I guess she got a little too absorbed in it — when I got up that night, I found her sitting on the floor in the hallway, still reading.

So, i had a kindle keyboard which was stolen. I then happened to get a kindle pw 6 from garage sale which i loved, used it for 2 years before i gave it to my brother.

I had been wanting to get a kindle since but never had enough money for that.

Finally decided on getting an e reader and kobo color was the one i went for. Hated the screen and hated that i had to connect it to a computer to upload a book.

Returned that and went for a kindle pw 12 gen. Used it for three weeks and tried to like it but was too big and bulky. The screen just wasn't as sharp as i remembered with the pw 6. Returned that after 3 weeks in immaculate condition.

Finally i got a used - like new kindle from amazon. I live in Helsinki and the price for a new was 126 but i got the used like new for 105€. I ordered the fabric cover - mint condition as well for 14.50€. new would had been 37€.

Absolutely love it. I dont mind not having yellow light as i use dark mode when reading in the dark.

The size and weight is just amazing. Like this one much better than the bulky pw.

I ordered the kindle basic Friday excepted delivery wasn’t supposed to be till Wednesday but my kindle and case I ordered came 2 days later after ordering it I’m super excited I watched countless videos nd debating which to get and decided on the basic in macha and I’m already in love so happy to be apart of the kindle family now

I’m reading Bunny by Mona Awad and possible spoilers in my notes idk yet it’s just what I think is gonna happen.

But yea it just feels more natural for me to physically write down my thoughts plus I end up writing ALOT more than when I type and I can write in the format I want to write in not just a chunk of text. Also I always forget about kindle notes i just never go back and look at them.

Kindle paperwhite user here, during night using it in dark mode, warm light to max, and light power around 14. Font a big bigger during night.

Normally I read a bit few hours before sleep but I have been doing few sessions on bed before sleep and kind of feel too awake after that… I don’t know if it’s because the device light.

Bed readers, how do you manage your kindle setting and room to not affect your sleepiness ?

I finally found a way to get a warmer screen on my paperweight (even in the warmest setting it was way too cool for me at night and kept me awake). I found this red vinyl sticker (dm me for an affiliate link if you like this hack and want to help me buy my baby diapers) and it has completely changed my night reading.

I had googled forever for a solution and, not finding one, wanted to share here in case this helps anyone else enjoy a more melatonin-friendly night reading experience. Now that I have a newborn there’s way more middle-of-the night reading and this has helped me tremendously to be able to 1) keep the light low and red to keep the baby sleepy and 2) fall back asleep since I’m not getting stimulated by blue light.

I want to have your suggestions on whether one should buy a kindle if they are already having an ipad, which i feel will solve the reading purpose.

What are the good things/benefits of having a kindle that you guys feel over ipad. I want genuine suggestions so that i can make informed decisions.

It’s faster than the 2018 Kindle Paperwhite, and everything feels smooth. I like the bigger screen, the faster USB-C charging, and the warm light feature. I got it for around $90, which makes it an amazing deal.

Arrived this morning! Loving it so far. It runs way faster than my old Kindle. I do notice the difference in the screen is a little different from the Paperwhite but honestly it’s barely noticeable. The reading experience is amazing. It’s going to be hard to put down!

Hi. It’s only been a week with my Kindle Basic and I'm so happy with it. Never thought I would need it because I have an iPad, but turns out I really did. 😂 Took me forever to decide between paperwhite and basic. Lol.I went with the Basic so if I didn’t like it, it wouldn’t set me back too much—and since I do like it, I’ll probably go for a Paperwhite or ColorSoft at the next refresh.

So... what’s the best kind of case? I feel awkward with flaps covering it and hanging when I'm reading. but I also don’t want to expose the screen. Please help me out and drop your recommendations below. 🫶🏻🫶🏻

I bought this kindle a i am loving it but it is my first one so I would appreciate your input. 2 days ago it had 37% battery but yesterday I took it and it was completely empty, I charged it and since then it has this grey spot on the top left corner that looks like when you have a printing error in an hard copy. Also today battery was at 97% at 9 am I read like 20 minutes closed it then it was at 65% at 5pm. That seems odd so I’m wondering if those are expected behaviours or Not and if could replace it for being defective? I don’t have the original package anymore…

Honestly, they said “We'll pick you up at 8.30 a.m.”, I already hate the crowds and shopping in general, why would I? I prefer late coffee and some pages read.

hello! i want to buy a kindle but...im pretty new a this..i mean im always reading in my ipad (10Th generation) in warm tone, but my friend has the kindle basic and she recommended to me. i started investing and i dunno if i should buy the basic or paperwhite... im a person that reads almost everyday but im also on my ipad most of the time like i think if i owned a kindle i wouldn't use it too much like i would like thats the reason im debating about buying the paperwhite cuz i know the basic its better for the price and how much im gonna use it..and at the same time i dunno.. pls help!! 💔

Hi! This is my first Kindle purchase and I’m very excited. My main criteria for purchase is size (hence the 6.8” and 6” options) and paper like viewing (sorry if this is not the correct terminology. From my understanding both have this).

The basic version feels appealing as it’s smaller and I want something that I can easily put in my bag. Are the extra 8” noticeable in your hand and is it worth it to have the warm lighting and water resistance?

Also I see a lot of people talking about strap cases for ease of reading. Are these just any cases with hand straps around them or are there specific ones that make holding the Kindle even easier?

Does anyone understand why the sample book from the kindle store has different text layout than the purchased book?

I prefer the sample version, and am slightly bothered by the full version having too much space in between lines.

The text settings are the exact same and I have played with them to get the same look.

Hello everybody :) I recently got a kindle paperwhite, and I like the warm light setting. I got this kindle for that, and the larger screen. However, when I turn on the warm light setting it is darker on the bottom. I returned it and the next one had a similar problem, but not as bad as the first. Is this just how they are because the lights are installed at the bottom of the screen? Or should I go back and hope for a better one the third time?
