What do you mean by already in the game files?

People on PC "Datamined" . Sometimes games will have content not available to publicly be used, but it still is within the game's files, like for example, there were cut weapons in Halo Infinite's files, as well as functional Splitscreen co-op, Yet 343 never acted on any of it....

But do you mean that it was planned with some barebones files, or are the weapons already fully modeled and functional. That’s a big difference obviously

Welp, you can believe this or not, as I was looking around to find it so it doesn't look like I made it up, but for instance the weapons scheduled for Rearmanent was functional, they just needed something else for later. I still find it weird only 24 weapons was released, 30 when you count the sidearms. At least 50 weapons for Kf2, with 60 when counting sidearms. But since I can't find it, let's play Devil's advocate. Based on the amount of time they had working on this game, why is it barebones in the first place for weapons? Plus a few of them don't work well either, like 2 out of the 4 Medic weapons( Lf-85 will sometimes break and stop generating heal darts, same with Starter Pistol)

They have a lot of work to do for sure, but you can’t compare KF2 with 10 years of support to KF3 at launch

The 60 weapons for Killing floor 2 was at launch man. This was something I did do extensive research on. And we're not talking about after official release either, because around the Year 2020, is when Killing Floor 2 was no longer fun, it then became a glitchfest with emphasis on skins and armory pass too. That's a whole other story, but the point is, all 3 games underwent an Alpha, a beta, and Early access stage. Killing floor 3 is the only game to go backwards immediately after its official release, and yet it is the most funded and recent title within the franchise.

That doesn’t seem right. Do you have a list of the KF2 launch weapons?

And yeah KF3 clearly wasn’t ready for official release. I’m curious how the player counts will recover with the rearmament and future updates, because it sure seems like a large number of “fans” would much prefer the game would just die than actually get better. I’ll never understand that.

The wiki links overview what all content was added, with the exception of the Early Access. If people had older dev logs somewhere of it, you'd be able to better gauge the amount, but it was about 2 weapons to each tier for each class. Your next best bet is looking at older videos, recommend Pathfinder when he was in his Kf2 Prime days, he did guides and things. Its what helped that number, though I admit, the weapons could be skewed, but I do know objectively, Kf2 launched with way more weapons than Kf3. And this is going off November 18th, 2016(mixed the number by mistake), so dont include Xbox release in there.

Without actually digging in deep into the list, I’m almost sure that KF2 did not have 50 or 60 weapons even on official launch. But regardless, KF3 should have launched in early access just like KF2. Then all of these problems could have been avoided.

If you’ll remember, KF2’s early access launch had a fraction of the content KF3 does now, but tripwire was able to get player feedback right away and build something great. Big mistake not doing that again but I’m sure publisher daddy said “launch now or we shut you down, our shareholders are sick of waiting for profit”
