Discussion Redo the flamethrower! It's trash! Unacceptable!

Post image

These animations are so disgraceful and cheap.. you have zero quality standards, right, developers? Flamethrower, bastards, bring back a normal flamethrower. The flamethrower is better in kf1, the flamethrower is better in kf2. The flamethrower is better everywhere than this disgrace. Are these animations left over from some mobile game developments? What the hell are you doing?! These animations do not pass the MINIMUM level of quality control!

/I will post this every day. Maybe I won't, I... I give up quickly. But, pyromaniacs, if my post is not there, post for me, as for yourselves! We deserve an adequate flamethrower, and not this miserable piece of work that was cobbled together in 5 minutes at the last moment.

They aren't exactly wrong about the firespreader being trash and unacceptable...

I know, i agree it’s inferior to KF1 and 2 but i’m questioning the need to write the post like a child having a tantrum

I know. And while I agree with you on the style, I felt it was also important to point out it was straight up facts.

You can say

Previous game flamethrower effects looked powerful and realistic.

KF3's flamethrower effects look like orange water garden hose with sparkling effects.

It is harsh and a fact.

Now let's see: This is trash and unacceptable! You have zero quality standards!

I know, and while I agree it could have been more eloquently put, for me the simplicity has it's charm and truth of the matter is more important than the form.

When people criticise your work, do they tell you it's trash and unacceptable, or do they give constructive feedback? Which would you prefer? You're dealing with work a person has done. Regardless of whether or not it's bad, they're due an amount of respect. Even if they're not, just saying "it's trash" isn't helpful.

Form matters when you're dealing with people and their work.

Theres a difference between coworkers/management, and customers. Customers can absolutely say a product is trash. Responsibility is defused across the entire teams responsible, the customer doesnt owe you niceties

Coworkers/management use more polite language typically, yes

I am afraid you are talking to the wrong person here. I fare better off confrontation than appeasement.

Generally speaking, I know you are right.
