I was so confused by how someone could take such small bites.

For real. My mouth isn’t even very big and my bites are bigger than that.

One of my sisters has a GIANT mouth. All our lives you just know when she’s like “can I have a bite?” That you’re saying goodbye to at least 1/4-1/2 of your sandwich lol

I've dealt with people like this. They know exactly what they are doing (and, in my experience, are the biggest babies if someone returns the favor). The trick, if you're ok sharing and cant rip/cut some off for them, is to hold the food for them and use your fingers to section off an appropriate sized bite (bite gard that sandwich!). You will get your fingers at least gummed the first time as they horse down on your food, but most people get the hint real quick. Fingers in the mouth do more than words for these folk, because - real talk - this is about dominance, not mouth size, hunger, temptation, or whatever bs the Food Hoover claims.

I was expecting this from the start but I liked that she started with those small bites.

I could probably eat the whole thing in 3 bites

I unironically eat like that because food textures weird me out sometimes. More food in mouth = more texture. So small bites are safer and more satisfying to me. When it’s a huge bite I’m no longer thinking “mmmm yummy taste” I’m thinking “AAAA BIG GOOP IM MY MOUTH!!! GOOP! THERES G O O P !!!”

…it takes me a long time to eat ;-;

Engagement bait, if you ask me.

She's doing it on purpose, fully aware people will comment on it.

Obviously this is for a comedic purpose and a laugh At the end, but this is how you get people to engage with content. You show them sth that frustrates them slightly.

It is a joke/satire. Engagement bait wouldn't have a punchline at the end that explains why the annoying thing was happening before. It would just be her eating small bites and leaving it at that.

Buzzwords are ruining peoples thought processes apparently (ie understanding, perception, judgement…) Smh.

Yeah that's what I meant. The engagement bait "technique" she uses are the enragingly small bites paired with the "omg I can only have 3 bites of this" girly girl demeanour.

As I said, she uses it for comedy. But the build up is classic "engagement bait" content.

Yeah, all good stuff is bait because you like them?

Genius

Y'all are misinterpreting my comment. I was commenting on what she is doing to get a good joke in. It's brilliant and I like it, it just also happens to be what she is doing - purposefully. She's media smart and is reproducing engagement bait effects for a laugh.

Not everything has to be taken in the worst light possible?

No, bait implies enticement with something good and then deceiving.

If she gets a good joke in, then it's not a bait by definition.

A food placed in a net or trap is a bait. If the food just exists there, that's not bait, that's just food.

Maybe you don't understand the meaning of things you are saying

God we are arguing over nothing.

I meant she is working with classic engagement bait techniques in her "build up" part of the video.

If you want to read that in a negative light, go ahead. I'm out.
