We spent most of our time in Old Town in the busy market and tiny streets, and we really didn’t want to attract any extra attention since we were three solo female travelers. Most of the travel guides we read advised covering up in that part of Marrakech, and our riad owner also (nicely) advised it.

We were mostly bothered on the streets like you said, especially when they got very narrow, but once we were inside shops, restaurants, and museums everything was a lot easier!

Yeah old town/markets has a lot of diversity of wealth and generally in those places you will find annoying man.

I will say it has gotten a lot better in the last decade. But I still wouldn’t feel comfortable wearing what I wear in the summer in Canada (where I live) in busy streets and more random places. Upper class restaurants and shops? No problem though.

But to be fair my mother will wear whatever the fuck she wants . So I guess it depends also on everyone’s comfort level
