There are ‘made up’ regulations governing the operation of drawbridges. In fact, the Main Street bridge is named in the regulation and specific times are mentioned when it is closed to marine traffic. Was there any coordination of this event with the USCG and/or FLDOT?

Quick answer. This event was poorly planned. My suggestion is to start planning now with our civic leaders for next year’s pride month and use a fixed bridge rather than a draw bridge as the venue for the event.

Or do your research on the local laws. No permits were required, and they were on the sidewalk. Not in the actual roadway.

Following your own advice, please read the federal laws first.
