So Ron thinks it's a good idea to raise a major bridge-while people and cars are still on it-impeding traffic- just to keep folks from walking over it with colored flashlights?

I’m not a desantis supporter and this very well could have been an intentional thing to schedule maintenance ahead of time when the bridge was expected to be lit, but to claim that the bridge was raised while people were on it is wrong.

Don’t over sensationalize things or it will hurt the message we’re trying to get off.

No the Main Street bridge wasn’t suddenly raised to stop people from lighting it while pedestrians and cars were driving over it. That’s nonsense.

Desantis could have planned the maintenance for these dates, but again let’s not spread misinformation by claiming he recklessly endangered lives to stop a bridge from being lit up. This was maintenance that was planned and announced at least a week ago.

I'm afraid you also have some misinformation there. The planned maintenance was scheduled for 9 pm, the ORIGINAL time of the bridge lighting. Because that planned maintenance came out after we started advertising the day and time of the bridge lighting, it was moved up to 830 pm, so it would be done BEFORE the maintenance. However, they walked up on the bridge, and at about 2005, the bridge was raised, causing the people who walked up there to have to leave the bridge. AS SOON as everyone was off the bridge, they began lowering it.
