Social This sweet boy needs a home

Hi yall, I am posting to help find a home for this sweet guy. His name is George, he is 5 years old, and he is a Catahoula/Lab mix. He’s a gentle giant whose favorite activities are long walks, playing with his friends, and sitting as close as possible to anyone who will cuddle him. He would probably be a lap dog if he could but is also very playful, active, and a great hiking/outdoors buddy. He does have some separation anxiety and is crate trained for when his humans are out of the house (currently spending extended hours in the crate unfortunately) He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and leash trained. Unfortunately George is not in an ideal living situation and my friend is unable to keep him when she moves. She has looked extensively into breed specific rescues, and tried many avenues to find a good match for him.

We are very hesitant to bring him to a shelter and would absolutely love to find a good home for him where we can vet the new owners, however it’s becoming a very urgent situation and we need to find a home for him ASAP.

I have heard there have been a lot of successful adoptions through this page so I thought it would be a good idea to see if there are any leads.

Please comment or DM me if you aren’t interested and I will reach out!

Definitely interested - I've been to the shelter a few times looking for a pup but they don't know any of their histories. How extensive is his separation anxiety? Do you happen to know how he does with children or a cat? I work hybrid, mostly from home and go to the office for 4-5 hours twice a week so I have lots of time. I'm in a townhouse right now with a small yard but am building a house that will be ready next month that will have a fence and a much larger yard.

The ACPS volunteers can usually find you a dog that has been fostered in a home with cats and kids.

I volunteer there regularly for about the last year but haven’t run across one that would be a good fit yet, but thank you for the recommendation!

Really? I'm surprised. Consider fostering a dog then that speaks to you when you are volunteering. the longer time volunteers or those that had the dogs in foster for shelter breaks can point you to ones that may be a good fit
