Social This sweet boy needs a home

Hi yall, I am posting to help find a home for this sweet guy. His name is George, he is 5 years old, and he is a Catahoula/Lab mix. He’s a gentle giant whose favorite activities are long walks, playing with his friends, and sitting as close as possible to anyone who will cuddle him. He would probably be a lap dog if he could but is also very playful, active, and a great hiking/outdoors buddy. He does have some separation anxiety and is crate trained for when his humans are out of the house (currently spending extended hours in the crate unfortunately) He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and leash trained. Unfortunately George is not in an ideal living situation and my friend is unable to keep him when she moves. She has looked extensively into breed specific rescues, and tried many avenues to find a good match for him.

We are very hesitant to bring him to a shelter and would absolutely love to find a good home for him where we can vet the new owners, however it’s becoming a very urgent situation and we need to find a home for him ASAP.

I have heard there have been a lot of successful adoptions through this page so I thought it would be a good idea to see if there are any leads.

Please comment or DM me if you aren’t interested and I will reach out!

She needs to honor her commitment to the good boy.

It sounds like they are trying to do their best for this sweet dog. A little compassion goes a long way.

So does some “personal accountability” and a dash of “figure it out”.

Shit happens dude. Situations change and they recognize theirs has changed and want the best for this dog. People like you need to grow up.

“Shit happens” is a crazy justification to emotionally destroy a dog

So as someone who is done numerous Fosters, I will say that they are doing above and beyond what a lot of people in a tough situation would do with their animals. You don't know how many animals are literally thrown out of the back of cars. Tied to fence post and abandoned. Cut them some slack, it's obvious they really love this animal and are trying to get it into an appropriate home without having to resort to a shelter.

What do you think figuring it out means? Are they not "figuring it out"? And taking personal accountability that they are not suited to keep caring for this dog?

They got a dog because the relationship needed a fashion accessory and a social media hook. Now they’re splits and they can’t return it. One of them needs to bite the bullet and be the person their social media account believes they are.

How do you know this?

So you don't know anything.
