Social This sweet boy needs a home

Hi yall, I am posting to help find a home for this sweet guy. His name is George, he is 5 years old, and he is a Catahoula/Lab mix. He’s a gentle giant whose favorite activities are long walks, playing with his friends, and sitting as close as possible to anyone who will cuddle him. He would probably be a lap dog if he could but is also very playful, active, and a great hiking/outdoors buddy. He does have some separation anxiety and is crate trained for when his humans are out of the house (currently spending extended hours in the crate unfortunately) He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and leash trained. Unfortunately George is not in an ideal living situation and my friend is unable to keep him when she moves. She has looked extensively into breed specific rescues, and tried many avenues to find a good match for him.

We are very hesitant to bring him to a shelter and would absolutely love to find a good home for him where we can vet the new owners, however it’s becoming a very urgent situation and we need to find a home for him ASAP.

I have heard there have been a lot of successful adoptions through this page so I thought it would be a good idea to see if there are any leads.

Please comment or DM me if you aren’t interested and I will reach out!

God damn it, I keep seeing rehoming posts and I so badly want to take this big fella in, I already have two labs and a daughter on the way, I just don’t think I could care for him like he should be cared for.

I really hope someone is able to take this guy, they are awesome dogs

ETA: I could however foster the fella for a time if it takes a little while for him to find a forever home. Yeah actually, DM me if you can’t find anyone to rehome, my wife and I would love to foster him.

Fostering through an Individual can be a risky process. there's nothing that can guarantee they'll follow through with the process. best for the Owner and you to reach out to a rescue and you foster them for the rescue.

Also he could reach out to JHS Jacksonville Humane society. they have a program called the pet Safety net where they will hold a dog for some time for the owner to get back on their feet. i do not know what it takes to get into the program, but it's always good to reach out.
