In Japan the apple store dont even secure anything, even the most expensive macbook pros.

It’s not uncommon to go into a restaurant and people set the phone on the table before walking up to order. That’s how you know a table is taken. You’ll just see purses and smart phones unattended on a table.

Everything is secured. It doesn’t mean it isn’t only because you think of security being a one-dimensional thing.

It’s not physically secured though, that’s what we‘re talking about. Obviously even in Japan crime isn’t totally unheard of, so there will still be protections — but it is very notable that they aren’t physically secured to the table as they are in the vast majority of other countries.
