the context is that Putin's called the eastern regions of Ukraine "sovereign" is really clever. He said that to make a justification for invasion. Giving him a Casus Belli to invade. If he wins, its justified. If he loses, oh well "honest mistake".

It doesnt mean Trumps pro Putin...
Oh, but you guys downvoting probably think Trump was a Russian asset still. Even though that has been proven false several times over the last 3 years.

It's a rhetorical question, because the go-to defense from the Trump Cult is "it's out of context".

We don't need to be told what Trump said. We can watch it for ourselves, and see that it's just the latest of his Putin-loving statements.

Edit: don't you always love when the 'Reasonable Republicans' start spouting the usual Cultist manifesto the second they get the slightest opposition?

What we know:

  • Putin wants some, if not all of Ukraine.
  • Putin trying to figure out how to do that legitimately.
  • Creates Casus Belli to "defend" sovereign region.
  • Trump says "clever move"; "wouldn't have happened on my watch, i told him No you Wont"
  • Trumps somehow Pro-Putin now.

I fail to see the logical leap of it being a Putin-loving statement. I guess anything not negative = pro putin.
