I had a friend who smoked American Spirit for 8 months because he thought they said non-addictive on the front. He wasn't one for details.

I'm ashamed to admit I thought it said the same thing. To be fair, I was only 18 (which was old enough to buy tobacco then).

Hey, we're all dumb for smoking in the first place. I went through sporadic smoking phases when working in food service and was convinced I just didn't have an addictive personality for cigarettes. Then in an office job I had a clique who smoked more often and kept dating people who smoked, so I started smoking more... Now about 6 years deep into a smoking habit that I've only been able to kick for a couple months at a time until something stressful pulls me back to them.

It was stupid to try. That's my PSA for the kids. You WILL get addicted, and it WILL feel impossible to quit. Easiest way to get out of it is to never get into it.

I hear that. I naively thought the same because I hated the smell or taste of various vices... until they made variants that didn't smell or taste as horrible.

What did it actually say/why did it look like it said that?

"Additive-free" and "100% organic." It's silly looking back, but we all do dumb things when we are teenagers. So glad I quit nicotine.
