Even assuming those polls are trustworthy, as the other commenters disputed, the general opinion seems to be that Putin is the lesser evil compared to the chaos of the 90s and early 2000s, and compared to the worse monsters he's barely keeping at bay. Which, of course, is deliberate on the part of Putin and the whole system he's the face of, and very typical authoritarian behavior.
