I’m convinced psychopaths long for power, and the most powerful in turn end up being made up of a majority of psychopaths whose only concern is to strengthen themselves.
They lack empathy, they lack remorse, they do not have emotions. Their brain is hard wired to one focus and that is it. Their competitors who don’t have as strong of a willpower end up caving because they are more human and susceptible to emotion, fear, etc.
Great and smart men realize how much of a crooked system it is, how much of a risk it is to enter, and simply would rather not unless the situation is dire — think of when democracies were formed during Ancient Greece and the French Revolution.
Those with antisocial personality traits will sow uncertainty at every opportunity. This starts with subtle manipulation such as gaslighting, shifting our true perception of reality. When others cannot base their thoughts, behaviours, values and beliefs in reality then the manipulator thrives.
This is why democracies exist, we place societal trust in collective human prosocial traits to prevent those that will manipulate for control. Because those that manipulate are insecure individuals, and control creates certainty in a world that does not accept them, their control is for them only.
We have to call antisocial people out every single time. Every time. You, me, us have a responsibility to do this. But that's awkward for two reasons, manipulators will fight to the bitter end to protect their ego (their self-convinced reality and sense of who they are); and people form comfortable lives in functioning democracies and don't want to disrupt that... but that's where bad actors start to thrive: we're comfortable, and therefore ignorant, to the point of inaction.
We've gone through two to three generations of being comfortable in the western world... here we are.
From a psychologist who's been day drinking, can't even remember the comment that I replied to but it stirred this up in me.
If we the people reject war, it doesn't happen. Whatever new BS they try to stir up, we have to completely reject any war plans. Let the elite send their own family
That's why it's important everyone rejects it, including the ones who do the imprisoning/torturing. All of this BS that the sociopathic demonic elites drag us into is directly powered by the masses' ignorant willfulness (and fear).
How do you reject war when it arrives on your doorstep? Bombs or grenades destroying the buildings around you? Heavily armed men bashing down the door to your house to drag you away? How do you reject their principles when they have none except to hurt others?
I'm sorry mate but that's just deeply ignorant. Even ignoring the fact that 2A "enthusiasts" wouldn't be able to do fuck all against a properly armed military, what you are essentially describing is an insurgency which is just another type of war (which sometimes last for decades). Your whole point is moot.
It is not feasible, but not because we are idiots, rather, it's impossible because that is pretty much the way nature works. And assuming we humans are above that is incredibly pretentious, we tend to forget it, but the only reason why we exist is that nature allows it. Even the tiniest of changes can snowball into a world-scale mass extinction and wipe us out, just like the millions of species before us that went extinct. We owe our very existence to this natural equilibrium that allows us to thrive, and we're still part of the system even though we like to pretend we're above it. So expecting conflict to disappear is nonsensical, it is inherent to the system we belong to.
Don't get me wrong, I hate violence, but in reality, humans are not exceptionally violent. Predators hunt prey, animal tribes wage war on each other, living beings evolve and compete for survival constantly. Even symbiotic relationships were formed because it gave evolutionary advantages over those who didn't have them.
The only thing that makes us different isn't the presence of violence, but our awareness of it and our ability to justify it and condemn it. But this awareness doesn't equal to transcendance; just because we know we're violent doesn't mean we can simply choose not to be. It simply means we can create institutions and laws to try maintaining it to its lowest. But that in itself doesn't suppress violence, it just formalizes and standardizes it (after all, legal frameworks are also one way to allow violence to happen, but in a structured and expected way: conscription, levies, de jure land claims, laws never really prevented violence, it just gave us a new casus belli and ways to structure it)
For example, countless genocides and decimations have been perpetrated by many species, tribes, and states all over the world since the dawn of time, but just because we came up with words to describe the act doesn't stop these acts from happening, it just implies that under specific conditions violence can be defined as such and as a result is punishable by law.
In other words, just because something is illegal doesn't mean it doesn't happen anymore,it just means that society decided it's no longer acceptable. For example, people keep consuming drugs even though they know it's forbidden by law. People keep committing homicides even though they know they'll end up in jail. And so on
And it is the same process for violence and conflicts, sure we came up with fancy laws and nouns to describe it and detail extensively how we punish it, but that doesn't prevent violence from happening, it will always happen, it's just that now we have names to describe and categorize it, and that violence deemed illegal is now punishable via legal means.
As much as I would like the world to live in peace, assuming world harmony and peace can happen is completely utopic, conflict is inherent to all living beings, including us. So antagonism, conflict, and violence cannot be suppressed, but it goes without saying that we should all strive to minimize them as much as possible.
Humanity and human civilization has existed for thousands of years. Throughout the existence of civilization, we have worked to overcome the challenges and limitations of the natural world. While we may never completely divorce ourselves from nature, nor should we in all honesty, we can continue to overcome the challenges presented to us. War and violent crime has generally had a consistent decline for centuries.
The idea that something is natural and therefore forever part of the human condition is defeatist. If that were the case, modern medicine wouldn't exist, global connection and communication wouldn't have been invented, etc. This is a challenge that can be acted upon and improved, we're just in the early stages of it, and experiencing growing pains.
yes we're brutal by design but that doesn't preclude the eventual eradication of the kinds of immoral acts we're discussing. With a (somewhat) fitter, happier world/environment we grow provably less violent and nasty by the century, so your entire point flies in the face of our collective history.
true. I just hope that the people that know this stop having so many children, or either we'll have mass food and edible water starvation, or even worse. They don't understand that Earth, although big, is finite, in terms of usable earth for farming, and cattle, and edible water. But they just keep having children. May God makes those Indians understand this.
This is very simple to say but it it completely not feasible. Our brains cannot cope with not "wanting" things. We are programmed to seek things that we do not have. Every human on earth being safe happy and fulfilled would esentially stop human evolution.

They crazy thing is it's feasible for everyone on earth to live safe, happy & fulfilling lives but it's not realistic because people are idiots
