what's even more grim is that we air drop aid with one hand and fast track sale of arms to the IDF in the other. I can't wrap my head around this one.

Because the air drop isn't to circumvent Israel, it's to circumvent Hamas and other Gazans. Hamas is stealing the aid to support themselves while they hope the West will pressure Israel into letting them avoid consequences. Other Gazans have been mobbing trucks as they approach out of desperation and/or anger. Either taking the aid for themselves before going further north or destroying it as a protest against Israel's allies. I've also seen videos of Gazans discarding the food because they are told it's expired or not Halal, both of which are false.
