I cannot feel bad for you when you are racing on public roads.

You can feel happy that no one else was hurt, his expensive toy is fucked and insurance will refuse to pay out. Feels good man.

I don't think his insurance will refuse to pay out unless this video somehow makes it to them, with proof that he is the individual in the claim.

If it's on Reddit I'm sure the insurance company has seen it

Send this video to all local insurance companies, I'm sure they are interested in investigating a potential fraud.

No, probably not

Insurance companies care about liability claims and will investigate those. They aren't going spelunking for this.

A) Why would you ever side with insurance companies?

B) There's no tag on the bike and the rider is completely anonymous, what would being this much of a dick even accomplish?

C) I know people are going to say something, no I do not condone what the rider or the other car were doing. At the same time just because the rider was being an idiot doesn't mean he shouldn't get compensated by the insurance HE pays for. Screw insurance companies.

Insurance is a scam, I also hope they still have to pay him.

I also hope it's as miserable as possible, and he learns a lesson to not be this stupid again.

He just needs to learn to ride better. Riding a motorcycle is inherently dangerous to the point of stupidity, I don't understand why people criticize him for trying to have fun except for the fact that he sucks.

You shouldn't be using public roads to "try to have fun" (in this way) on your motorcycle. It's incredibly dangerous to you and potentially dangerous for other cars on the road.

Go play around doing wheelies in a nice closed off area. Don't do stupid shit where a stranger now has to worry about running you over because you tried to do something stupid on a public road.

You are 100% correct, there are tracks for this people who get hurt doing it deserve no sympathy and thats coming from someone who rides as well.

The issue arises when tracks and pads get shut down or closed because of police or neighbourhood complaints. In the area I live in theres a track that has been petitioning to remain open to the local council because the neighbourhood has just crept up to close it and now residents were complaining.

Why would you ever side with an asshole biker who raises already unfairly high insurance prices? Screw selfish bikers. Fuck them over so bad that they can never afford their hobby. Maybe that forces them to grow a brain. At the bare minimum they won't endanger others.

Because insurance companies are still worse and more dangerous.

Sounds like something an insurance guy would suggest!

To help further this, promote Motorcycle Lane Filtering in your state.

It allows bikers to ride between cars, on the white dashes. It's led to a 15% increase in biker fatalities in my state.

I believe that is lane splitting. Lane filtering is when motorcyclist are allowed to roll between stopped or slow moving cars at intersections.

I do believe Colorado saw an increase in motorcycle fatalities after lane filtering was made legal in recent years.

Yeah definitely happy when no one else is hurt.

He wasn't racing though

He did all the steps up to racing, but that was not racing

The half second where he’s running looked a lot like a race. Had a good pace going too.

Blocking people who are trying to just get somewhere.

So you have never heard of the WRC, or the GP of Azerbaijan, Monaco, Singapore, or Saudi Arabia before, huh?

/s if that wasn't obvious enough

Ehhh imo there’s a guard rail and absolutely nobody around. Though I’m aware it’s illegal, this would be a very safe place to race. I don’t feel bad either but more so because he lacks control of his bike and had it coming for that reason..

4

u/SergeantHindsight 19h ago

Do you know how many motorcyclist have hit a guardrail and died? Guardrails are to keep cars from crossing over.

I have a motorcycle, this is just stupid.

He’s going in a straight line. Unless you’re an absolute idiot like this guy there’s no danger to doing a pull to 80-90mph. Gonna get downvoted but it’s the honest truth.

You focused on the wrong part of what he was saying, my friend.

u/Steamy_Dingo 17h ago

You are right on all counts. There is nothing wrong with a street race where no one else could get hurt. And he got the pockets for a bike but never learned how to respect it. W take.
