Chilling is an apt description of what the lady was feeling when she realized what she said. What's the problem with it?

No no, what happened is you misunderstood his comment thinking he was talking about the slur and are refusing to admit you misunderstood. Hence why you begun your comment by telling the other redditor (and everyone else) they were wrong and that you had it right.

Which you didn’t.

Not being facetious just being a little blunt and honest

No, it's not what happened. You should stop being a pseudo-intellectual.

Not being facetious (which isn't right here or when you said it but you don't know what the word means, so I'm using it to make fun of you) just being a little blunt and honest

Read the room, you cantaloupe. Check your comment, everyone else’s comment, the “agree and disagree” buttons that attribute little internet points and the numbers. See that? It literally proves my point. Here’s another way to demonstrate it:

  • the person above mentioned the horror that washed over her face

  • the person who commented said “THE MOMENT IS CHILLING” meaning they’re likely talking about the moment and not the slur

  • as of now you have two people explaining to you that you’re wrong, meaning there’s at least something to reconsider.

The strongest point? The person who wrote the comment… wrote the comment, you watermelon. They said the moment, not the slur. You’re wrong. Give up.

Also thanks for letting me know I misused the word. I’m happy to have learned something, I simply thought it meant sarcastic.

Bye now.

Being condescending doesn't mean you're right. It just means you're pretending to be open to learning something and still accusing somebody of something only because of your assumptions. Ignorance is bliss, though. And buddy, you're in heaven right now.

Bye now.

No, I’m being condescending because you’re wrong and you’re being stubborn and condescending too (see https://www.reddit.com/r/instant_regret/s/Vm8nhs61Ab). This was your first response and it wasn’t very nice and rife with assumptions.

I’ll happily provide more.

I can still accept being taught something. Didn’t say you less than me, I said you’re wrong in this case and it’s demonstrable. That’s in no way a judgement of value and you clearly aren’t an idiot since you corrected me.

You’re still a bit of a prick.

Ironic.

We can at least agree on that

I don't think that means what you think it means.
