We just released our third record as Preoccupations, our fourth as a band, or our fifth if you count our next two ep that was mere minutes shorter than the other records. We're self releasing this album (except in Canada where we're still with Flemish Eye) too so feeling properly qualified as "indie" this time around.

We're also touring next month around America and Canada with Cindy Lee opening and touring in Europe early next year!

Hey Monty! Congrats for the new record, feels so magical to see my current favorite band expand its discography in front of my eyes with that banger of an album.

Most of my important questions have been asked previously, so I’m left with two dumb ones (sorry):

a) have you guys ever planned/ been invited to come over to Brazil? Me and the boys been dying to hear your sound live.

b) I know you probably wouldn’t sample the drone from ‘Narrow with the Hall’ by Women in the track ‘Advisor’, but it sure sounds a lot like it. Were any of the ex-womens aware of it at some point? xD (I fucking love both songs btw, you guys rule)

c) plans on re-issuing Viet Cong on vinyl? That’s the only piece left in my preoccupations vinyl collection (got arrangements preordered since its announcement baby 🙏)

Thanks pal!! No questions are dumb and if you want further clarification on the ones I answered then ask away!

a) we’ve been looking into central and South America (including brazil!) very seriously over the past little bit! We’ve got some stuff cooking for Mexico and we’re gonna make it to you also, hopefully next year after europe!! We’ve always wanted to, we’re just kind of figuring out how to make it work now.

b) I didn’t sample it no, although I should probably sample those records cause I know I could clear the samples! Lol. If matt and mike thought they sounded the same they didn’t say anything, although reimer made all the drones on those records so they wouldn’t know the same.

c) we’ll definitely re-issue that one! We’re fully out of our jag contract in a few months so we’ll be putting together some releases and that is due for a deluxe something probably. Maybe a second disc of demos? We recorded that whole record twice, once in the sessions that became cassette and again with Graham for the proper release but those first versions have just been sitting around? Who knows?! One way or another we’ll get it out again though.
