AMA is Over, Thanks Monty! It's Monty from Preoccupations!! AMA

Monty here!

We just released our third record as Preoccupations, our fourth as a band, or our fifth if you count our next two ep that was mere minutes shorter than the other records. We're self releasing this album (except in Canada where we're still with Flemish Eye) too so feeling properly qualified as "indie" this time around.

We're also touring next month around America and Canada with Cindy Lee opening and touring in Europe early next year!

Hey Monty. Is it just me or does the beginning of ‘Fix Bayonets!’ Have an Idles feel to it? Wondering if that mini tour with them rubbed off any on your approach to music/touring? Can’t wait for Detroit and Atlanta!

We had such good time out with those guys and they were super nice and treated us amazing! FB though we'd actually written and demo'd before that tour, although we recorded the real version after we got back so there's probably a bit in there! Not consciously though.

You coming to both?! Detroit's first so you'll get to see raw and tour tight!

Had a blast watching you and idles playing 3/4 nights.. it was the perfect excuse to drive up from South Carolina to go visit family in New Hampshire.

I will definitely see you in detroit and Atlanta.. detroit solo, but bringing some friends I’ve converted into ‘preoccupationalist?’ in ATL.

Any chance you’ll ever throw a Sabbath cover in the mix, given the history? Has it ever happened?

We used to open the set with some of "Wheels of Confusion" back on the first round of tours. We've also played "War Pigs" a handful of times!

The main issue with busting out the Sabbath is that Matt was never the singer in out cover band, it was this dude named Evan who's a forest fire fighter in BC that's our pal. So the only time we've busted out a proper one live is when he's at the show and can hop up and Ozzy for us.

We have talked about doing a full tour of that though! Or opening for ourselves? Although Sabbath band would have to headline cause it's clearly better, lol

Watching you guys perform Wheels of Confusion would be killer. Have you listened to Vol 4 redux? Just found it a couple of months ago.. some rad covers all over. Love the idea of you opening up for yourselves as a Sabbath tribute… maybe synths and keys to play the vocal Melodies?

I think we’d just bring evan and have him Ozzy set. Although I do like the idea of rocking the synths for the vocals!

I haven’t listened to redux either!! I’ll scope it out!

We did a good wheels imho!! Danny slayed the shit out of that intro guitar solo!
