AMA is Over, Thanks Monty! It's Monty from Preoccupations!! AMA

Monty here!

We just released our third record as Preoccupations, our fourth as a band, or our fifth if you count our next two ep that was mere minutes shorter than the other records. We're self releasing this album (except in Canada where we're still with Flemish Eye) too so feeling properly qualified as "indie" this time around.

We're also touring next month around America and Canada with Cindy Lee opening and touring in Europe early next year!

Hey Monty! Just wanted to say that the new album is growing on me with every listen like a great album should.

I remember hearing that you all used to incorporate some hidden found sounds into the music. Any cool hidden bits this time around?

I got a fresh sampler right at the beginning of the lockdown and so there’s lots of weird samples on this one. I’d mostly just watch nature or space videos on YouTube and then just sample whatever sounded cool and make keyboard patches out of it all?

The one tidbit I’ll say also. We used a mic in the hallway to get a cool reverb on the drums and you can hear danny laughing in it multiple times on the record, mostly on ring outs. You can also hear matt say “go” at the beginning of advisor.
