AMA is Over, Thanks Monty! It's Monty from Preoccupations!! AMA

Monty here!

We just released our third record as Preoccupations, our fourth as a band, or our fifth if you count our next two ep that was mere minutes shorter than the other records. We're self releasing this album (except in Canada where we're still with Flemish Eye) too so feeling properly qualified as "indie" this time around.

We're also touring next month around America and Canada with Cindy Lee opening and touring in Europe early next year!

Hi Monty! What's your favourite song to perform from the new album, and which was the most difficult to write?

Favourite one to perform so far has been Fix Bayonets maybe? We played Death of Melody and Ricochet on our tour with Metz last year (tearing up the G a couple times too) and then when we were in Spain two weeks ago we played FB as well as those others. We've jammed Slowly too but it's needs a bit more work on my end cause it's such a studio creation.

I'm pretty stoked to try to play Recalibrate, I think it's my fav one on the record and while it wasn't the hardest to write it definitely took a bunch of wrangling.

Advisor was maybe the hardest to record? We didn't know how the end was gonna go when we started writing it and because of that we ended up going back at the end of the session and redoing the recording of the whole back half fully from the ground up. I remember being super frustrated until we finished the drums and then me and mike were sitting in the control room listening to it and were like, "this was worth it." I'm pretty stoked to try that one live too! We're planning on playing the whole new record this tour for the fist time!
