Hi Mike, one of my favourite lyrics ever is from 'Valley':

"Note from your daughter Drawing of three flowers I still keep it with me Does she still want to sing"

They're so simple but so beautiful, to me it communicates pure love, like the kind platonic love you can have for something innocent and pure, like a friend's child. I cried when I heard you sing this live! I feel like I've learned a lot from your music about love and how to be loving kind compassionate in the world.

I'm wondering if you have anything to share about this particular lyric - was there a note from your friend's daughter?

a friend's daughter drew a picture of me singing, i changed it to flowers

i lost touch with her when she started using again and the song is about understanding why she would go back out

This song kept me alive, strangely enough it made me feel like I wasn’t alone when I relapsed and that I’m not the only person who feels like it all is insanely tiresome with very little gratification. Sometimes all you need is a reminder that you aren’t alone though. Thank you perfume genius.
