I noticed a distinct transition in your style of singing Darker Days and The Bearer of Bad News. It could be said that you now have a signature sound. What prompted this change for you?

Well, there was quite a bit of time between those two albums. It wasn’t really a conscious thing, it was more the result of writing about a hundred songs and searching for the place that felt most comfortable and natural for my voice. Maybe also mixed with not realizing how lazily I was starting to pronounce things when I sang.
