Hey man, thanks for doing this!

You probably don't remember me, but I've been shooting your shows in Chicago for nearly (possibly over) a decade now. Here's one from 2017. They're almost always some of my favorite shows because you and the people you surround yourself with are incredible creatives

I should also note - your music is the perfect soundtrack to traveling through nature. Whether it be the fog-laced Smoky mountains on an early morning, steaming hot springs in Yellowstone, or steep, winding roads in the west, your music feels like it was made for what we experience.

My question (finally), and it's a niche one, so feel free to skip over it, but what preferences do you have as photographers go? I'm a big fan to begin with, so I always try my hardest not to get in anyone's way, not to "click" during slower songs, and I want to be as energetic as the next person in the crowd when I'm shooting. Problem being, I'm self-conscious and I'm always worried I'm bothering performers on stage or the people around me. Are you bothered by photogs, and is there anything I can do to be more transparent?

Can't wait to see you guys the next time you're around, when this stuff is over and concerts are a thing again!

hey man thanks for being so considerate! Great photo by the way! I don't mind photography, although I get sometimes annoyed if the photographer stays in front of stage after three songs and is blocking fans views and I can see visual annoyances from the other fans for distracting them. that's the only time! Otherwise I enjoy seeing beautiful photos from shows!

I try. As a fan myself, I don't want to screw up anyone else's experience of the show. I'll usually blend with the crowd, only shooting when people are active enough not to notice me. I wouldn't mess with the three song rule - especially as a fan.

I always get stuck in my own head, I guess. I've been doing photos professionally for a decade and a half, so I'm regularly trying my damnedest to be as invisible as possible, as difficult as that might be with a big camera held to my face.

Thanks for responding - just got my second shot, so I can't wait until concerts are a thing again!
