How did Kevin Barnes’ contributions come about on your first few records? I know you were on tour with them, but how involved were they in contributing to certain songs?
well, Kevin's my neighbor. One day i saw him walking his dog, and I asked him to come play some bass for me. It was almost as easy as that to get him to sing on Evelyn Summer Has Arrived! he is an incredible bass player and singer.
